Facts are: One does not “create” a personal brand, you already have one. Y our personal brand is out there whether you are merely listed in the phone book, facebook, linkedin , Google+ or any other social networks. Today, there are no do over's with the Internet. At very least, employers will do a simple google search to see your current personal footprints. Managing your personal brand is your most important consideration. Brand consistency Make sure to keep your brand and your resume consistent across all platforms. Keep your LinkedIn profile and your resume in sync. Use a current photo-you will meet in person one day. Shoot Straight Creating a personal brand is not creating a new persona. Be true to yourself and your brand. Blogging You have every right to express yourself but if you feel like going off on a rant, you might want to write it privately and sleep on it before you post your personal views.....especially politics! Verify your claims with precise information numbers and dates. Be Brief. Create your personal tag line in 10 words of less. Any more than these few words with dilute your brand to very forgettable.
