Eagle Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is seeking an experienced Medical Science Liaison for a direct hire opportunity.

Job Functions:


  • Identify and develop long-term relationships with Key Opinion Leaders to provide scientific support for existing products.
  • Serve as a primary liaison for clinical and scientific information exchange with KOLs and health care providers. Also serving as a primary liaison for connecting KOLs and their institutions with appropriate Medical Affairs initiatives that forward the scientific progress of our brands.
  • Support KOL involvement in research activities and respond to unsolicited medical requests for interactions related to investigator sponsored trials (ISTs). Assume a primary role for the facilitation of IST projects.
  • Develop field medical affairs plans and respond to requests for off-label medical information as per policies and procedures.
  • Serve as a disease state resource to KOLs, academic institutions, community emergency medicine, neurology, critical care and advocacy groups.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide accurate medical information to Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee members.
  • Obtain, organize and report scientific intelligence in a clear manner.
  • Assist with implementation and engagement of KOLs participation in advisory boards and meetings.
  • Attend assigned scientific congresses for the purposes of gaining scientific insights, supporting the communication of information about disease states which may potentially include company products to congress.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop publications and other medical communications.
  • Engage with assigned emergency care, neurology, critical care and cooperative groups to support their research that is consistent with medical affairs strategy.
  • Serve as a speaker and deliver medical/scientific presentations to internal and external groups.
  • Serve as a scientific resource and company representative to patient advocacy groups.
  • As the regional content expert, the MSL will provide input and collaborate with the marketing team regarding disease and treatment management programs.
  • Build relationships with internal colleagues, and provide clinical input, training, and support to internal teams within regulatory guidelines.




Keys to Success:


  • Demonstrate understanding and mastery of the specific medical affairs function. Support the needs of customers providing malignant hyperthermia/exertional heat stroke care or performing research in the academic setting. Required areas of expertise include knowledge of clinical research design and study analysis, regional standards of care, applicable clinical guidelines and pathways, cost effectiveness and other high-level HEOR evidence approaches, and local practices of patient management.
  • Demonstrate ability to develop trust and maintain integrity with KOLs and HCPs.
  • Communicate with all medical, research and development, and commercial counterparts to successfully implement field medical strategies.
  • Maintain and develop scientific knowledge in malignant hyperthermia and exertional heat stroke related to approved company products.




  • 3-5 years of MSL experience in emergency care, neurology and/or critical care and demonstrated knowledge of the emergency and critical care clinical environment.
  • Advanced terminal degree (PhD or PharmD) in a related discipline strongly preferred. In lieu of a terminal degree, an RPh, Masters or critical care/emergency/neurology nursing trained applicant with 8+ years of experience will be considered.
  • Familiarity and experience with managed markets, P&T committee presentations, HEOR research, and the AMCP dossier.
  • Thorough knowledge of treatment guidelines, clinical research processes, customer strategies and FDA promotional guidelines, regulations, and ethical guidelines applied to the pharmaceutical industry is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of the pharma/biotech industry.
  • Clear understanding of MSL roles and responsibilities, and MA activities including publication planning, medical information, and advisory boards.
  • Demonstrated strong understanding of clinical research trial design in malignant hyperthermia and exertional heat stroke.
  • Ability to network and partner with important customers, medical directors, and pharmacy directors is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple assignments and deliver results while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced working environment.
  • Must have the ability to gain customer feedback and uncover business opportunities.
  • Self-motivated and must thrive on challenge, as well as be a strong team player with ability to effectively interface with other internal departments.
  • Able to travel: 75%
