Position SummaryA Senior Business System Analyst position is being created within the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) team to ensure continuity of the project and support. The role will report directly to the project leadership, working with the project team and key stakeholders across the organization, maintaining established relationships and assessing existing documentation to support a smooth transition and sustained project engagement.
This position is responsible for planning, managing, and executing business analysis activities throughout the project lifecycle. This includes managing requirements and deliverables, conducting research and analysis, facilitating workshops and meetings, testing, and creating/validating models and documentation. The role also ensures deliverables meet quality standards and align with organizational practices.
Serving as a bridge between business and technical teams, the Senior Business Analyst translates business needs into clear functional specifications and supports developers, testers, and change management throughout project delivery. This role may also provide guidance for other business analysts and contribute to the ongoing improvement of business analysis processes and methodologies.
This position plays an important role in maintaining project continuity, supporting strategic initiatives, and helping deliver value to the business while providing opportunities to expand skills and contribute to continuous improvement within the EPMO.
Skill Set Requirements- Analyze existing requirements, review current documentation, and stakeholder relationships to maintain momentum.
- Drive the development of requirements and/or user stories including detailing acceptance criteria of key program stakeholders.
- Document complex business processes and IT system interactions as part of the requirement elicitation process.
- Facilitate collaborative sessions (in-person and/or virtual) with diverse stakeholder groups to drive requirements discovery, analysis, and review.
- Identify and prioritize business needs, risks, and opportunities.
- Assess the impact and manage all requirements changes throughout the program lifecycle.
- Collaborate with various internal and external team members to deliver agreed-upon business and technical requirements.
- Document key stakeholders and persona impacts for training and change management activities.
- Collaborate with others responsible for the application, design, testing, and implementation of solutions; work with key stakeholders to ensure the solution meets acceptance criteria.
- Adhere to the established business analysis approach, including tasks and deliverables based on the project and delivery methodology.
- Facilitate functional testing and user acceptance testing, including documentation required for compliance.
- Other duties as needed or assigned.
- Minimum 10+ years of Business Analyst experience.
- Proven success documenting business needs and requirements with a diverse group of stakeholders and delivering well-written use cases and/or user stories that can be tied directly to technical design and test documents.
- Self-starter with the ability to identify needs and propose/implement solutions.
- Ability to review design documentation and test cases to ensure alignment and coverage of all requirements.
- Experience defining process flows and/or value stream maps.
- Ability to collect, manage and quantify changes and change impacts to requirements.
- Proven experience with enterprise projects with many impacted users (i.e., at least 200 users).
- Critical thinking skills with the ability to bridge business and technology needs and help mitigate risks or issues.
- Experience in agile and waterfall environments.
- Experience with an intranet software implementation project is preferred.
- Attention to detail and organization skills.
- Communication, negotiation, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong character, ethics, commitment, and reliability.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and complexity.
- Ability to travel (Canada/US), 0-10%.
