Job Description
This position provides various types of assistance to Facility Maintenance Technicians and Coordinators. This includes assisting with all types of maintenance and repairs at City facilities, acting as a safety observer, delivering parts/equipment to repair shops, making parts runs for jobs, cleaning maintenance and mechanical spaces, etc. The position is also expected to attend training as directed to become qualified for Facilities Maintenance Technician I positions.
The ideal candidate is one who is knowledgeable in the general and building maintenance trade; knowledgeable of various hand tools and safety regulations; hard working and dependable; good communication skills; and enjoys working alongside lead technicians in performing repairs throughout the City of Chesapeake.
