AWS Cloud Developer

Location: Washington, District of Columbia (Hybrid)

Role Overview

We are seeking a mid-level AWS Cloud Developer to join an ongoing development, maintenance, and data engineering team. This role supports a critical project by providing analyses, solutions, and maintenance for processes that ingest financial market data. The position involves serving as a member of an Agile team to provide engineering support for services that migrate data and algorithms to an AWS cloud environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a member of an Agile team to provide engineering support and maintenance of cloud services.
  • Design, code, test, and implement AWS cloud-based solutions.
  • Work on requirements gathering and task estimation.
  • Perform routine data checks, code development, and quality checks.
  • Support database planning, design, and implementation.
  • Support systems analysis, design, and implementation.
  • Support code reviews and cloud deployments.
  • Provide regular status updates on progress.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and 5 years of experience, or a High School Diploma and 9 years of experience.
  • Strong experience as a developer working with AWS services and cloud environments.
  • Proven database development experience with PostgreSQL/Postgres, Amazon Redshift, and RDS.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL development, performance tuning, and query optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with Python and XML data processing.
  • Experience developing ETL processes using AWS services and Python.
  • Experience designing and implementing data migration strategies from on-premise data warehouses to the cloud.
  • Experience working with XML data structures, including industry message formats such as FIXML or FPML.
  • Familiarity with AWS Developer tools such as API Gateway, Lambda, S3, Glue, Athena, Git, Jenkins, EC2, and Step Functions.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in business, finance, computer science, statistics, or a related field with 2 years of experience.
  • Financial industry experience.
  • Experience working in an Agile software development environment.
Work Environment

This position requires a hybrid work model, with three days per week onsite in the Washington, DC facility and two days of teleworking. Standard business hours are flexible, with daily stand-ups beginning at 9 a.m.
