JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a strong process- oriented Commercial Contracts Counsel who will interact daily with company attorneys, executives, and sales staff in a fast-paced, sales environment as a member of the Legal Department. The ideal candidate must possess excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as a team-oriented attitude with an ability to work across varying levels of the business. This role requires a strong attention to detail and ability to work confidently under pressure. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Drafting, analyzing, revising, and negotiating complex master services agreements and other related legal documents
  • Reviewing the terms and conditions of commercial contracts
  • Advising internal clients on contract provisions and associated legal matters
  • Editing legal documents to ensure consistency with company policies and applicable laws
  • Maintaining accurate database and file records, ensuring compliance
  • Communicating with senior management and sales leaders regarding contract provisions
  • Providing a solution-oriented approach to business contract negotiations
  • Assisting with other legal or litigation matters as they arise
  • Working with fellow Contracts Counsel to develop efficient and effective policies to meet legal and business needs

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school and admission to a state bar
  • 1+ years of relevant experience, preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with short turnaround times and handle multiple activities, contracts, subcontracts, and customers (internal / external) simultaneously
  • Highly motivated with ability to work without direct supervision
  • Superior oral communication and interpersonal skills required
  • Detail oriented individual with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Intermediate skills with MS Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • This position will be hybrid based in Richmond, VA
