Job Summary:

The Elevator & Escalator Service Department at Mitsubishi Electric US (MEUS) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Summer Intern to support the deployment and programming of remote monitoring technologies. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with smart service systems and contribute to the digital transformation of elevator and escalator maintenance across the U.S. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, technically inclined, and ready to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic, real-world engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the configuration, and programming of remote monitoring devices that are utilized to enhance service operations and predictive maintenance.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret operational data to identify trends and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Prepare and distribute weekly performance and status reports using Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support ongoing service improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in technical training sessions to gain foundational knowledge of elevator and escalator systems, software platforms, and industry best practices.
  • Ensure all tasks are performed in compliance with safety standards and company protocols.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, or related field), Computer Science, or a relevant technical discipline.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
    • Basic understanding of mechanical and/or electrical systems.
    • Familiarity with data analysis tools or programming languages (e.g., Python, SQL) is a plus.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Experience: Previous internship, academic project, or volunteer experience in a technical or engineering-related field is preferred but not required.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $17.00/hr and $21.16/hour; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including commissions based on achieving individual performance and/or sales metrics, incentive compensation and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these additional compensation and benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
