About This Role:


We areseekinga highly motivated and creative individual to join our Oligonucleotide Chemical Development team as a Scientist I. This role isanexcitingopportunity to develop robust processes for the synthesis of oligonucleotides, contributing significantly to both clinical and commercial therapeutics. You will gain hands-on experience in designing and developing manufacturing processes, working closely with our development and manufacturing teams. Your efforts will enhance process robustness, productivity, and impurity control, bringing substantial value to our work in oligonucleotide synthesis. As part of the larger Biogen structure, your contributions will play a pivotal role in advancing our scientific endeavors andimpactingpatient outcomes.

WhatYou'llDo:
* Collaborate with development and manufacturing teams to design and conduct laboratory experiments tooptimizesynthesis processes.
* PerformASOpilot-scale synthesestosupportpreclinicalstudies.
* Accurately record experimental procedures and data.
* Communicate research results effectively throughwritingreports and presenting in meetings.
* Engage in CMC activities, including authoring CMC sections of INDs.

Required Skills:
* M.S. with 0-2 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical or biotech settings.
* B.Swith more than 3 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical or biotech settings.
* Specialization in synthetic organic chemistry, with excellent synthetic skills and a deep understanding of reactivity and reaction mechanisms.
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with effective communication skills in written and oral forms.
* Self-driven, independent thinker, vigorous andthorough inexperimentation and data interpretation.

Preferred Skills:
* Experience in nucleoside chemistry or oligonucleotide synthesis.
* Perform synthetic process research and development of drug candidates and conjugates.
* Continuous improvement mindset for research projects and synthesis processes.


Job Level: Professional


Additional Information

The base compensation range for this role is: $103,000.00-$134,000.00


Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.

Regular employees are eligible to receive both short term and long-term incentives, including cash bonus and equity incentive opportunities, designed to reward recent achievements and recognize your future potential based on individual, business unit and company performance.
