Job Description

The Analyst, Data Exchange is responsible for supporting exchange of data and reports with health plans and related entities in support of data warehouse operations, reporting and analysis, clinical care management, compliance, and financial operations.


Key Responsibilities

The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be exhaustive.

  • Execution of projects to establish health care data exchange with various external partners, including health plans, physician organizations, and related entities
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain tracking dashboards and data schedules
  • Serve as an expert resource to internal and external stakeholders leveraging relationships with health plans and clinical organizations to provide data support to the enterprise
  • Monitor and validate data sources and work with appropriate stakeholders to resolve issues
  • Develop and maintain detailed knowledge of file and load specifications for various data files
  • Work cross functionally with Data Warehouse, Analytics, Clinical Care Management, and Finance departments to evaluate and address data needs and uses
  • Define, develop, and maintain data specifications to support acquisition and delivery of data to key internal and external stakeholders
  • Participate in activities to support data acquisitions and deliveries including identifying areas of opportunity to improve data acquisition processes, efficiencies and ensure data accuracy
  • Create process flows, workflow diagrams, procedures relative to new implementations and existing process changes
  • Develop process and analytics to monitor data exchanges to health plan partners. 
  • Work with data warehouse content and quality team to reconcile with health plans
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external business partners and stakeholders

Reports To: Director, Data Exchange

Location: Anaheim, CA or Remote




  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or quantitative discipline required (will accept 6+ years relevant experience in lieu of degree)
  • 3+ years business or healthcare experience in designing, producing, and interpreting quantitative and qualitative analysis outputs
  • 4+ years managing projects, programs or data exchanges involving the transfer and receipt of clinical data
  • 5+ years experience working within the medical industry required
  • Direct experience involving the transfer and receipt of health plan and clinical data
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills
  • Ability to listen to stakeholders, discover unmet needs, develop strong rapport with audience, and be customer-focused
  • Understanding of accountable care and value-based payment arrangements
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements
  • Ability to listen to stakeholders, discover unmet needs, develop strong rapport with audience, and be customer-focused
  • Demonstrated experience working with a range of business, clinical, and technical professionals and navigating through complex situations
  • Highly detail-oriented and results-driven, with self-motivation to deliver meaningful output
  • Ability to synthesize and interpret complex information
  • Comfortable with multi-tasking in a fluid and dynamic environment with changing needs. Able to manage through ambiguous situations to find meaningful solutions in a timely and effective manner
  • Demonstrated familiarity in data transfer methods and protocols, SQL, and standard health care data exchange formats strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related tools and systems
