Position: Public Relations Manager
Location: Downtown Kansas City

Rate: Up to $55,000

Our agency client is growing and needs a Public Relations Manager to join its team full time.

As the PR Manager, you will implement and execute public relation strategies for its clients. The ideal candidate has experience with traditional and nontraditional media, is a great writer, is analytical and an effective communicator.

Responsibilities include:
- Managing projects from conception to completion by anticipating challenges and ensuring deadlines and budget adherence.
- Running weekly internal and client meetings
Generating and sharing reports
- Participating in strategic planning sessions to develop communications plans and win new business opportunities
- Assisting in writing effective communications including: news releases, talking points/key messages, media alerts, presentations, blog copy, website articles or long-form writing
- Working closely with other departments such as media and social media to develop content, identify and create programs for influencers
- Developing and nurturing relationships with key reporters, editors, producers and influencers
- Monitoring, analyzing and reporting on TV, radio and print campaigns, as well as press coverage
- Packaging insights into reports and regularly sharing with internal teams and clients, accordingly

To qualify for this position, the PR Manager should have:
- 4+ years of experience, agency experience preferred
- Experience working in the following industries is a plus: companion animal, farm animal and agricultural
- Proficiency in PR software such as Cision, TrendKite or Google
