Description

As a Systems Engineer with Creative Circle, you will provide network server, infrastructure and user support to a 400+ end-user population including remote assistance to 30+ branch offices. Responsibilities include developing/troubleshooting both server hardware/software, VoIP system and client applications, as well as providing tier 2/3 level escalation for client support. The ideal candidate will have an in-depth understanding of the VMWare hypervisor and EMC SAN platforms. Microsoft Enterprise Active Directory environments, VXRail Hyper-converged platform configuration/deployment/management, and backup/disaster recovery methodology utilizing imaging and replication recovery platforms such as Avamar and EMC Recover-point is also needed. Solid knowledge in EMC SAN and VSAN configuration/management is also a requirement.

This position is located in our mid-city, mid-Wilshire office in Los Angeles.

QUALIFICATIONS

MANDATORY:
• Bachelor's degree in a related computer field
• 5+ years help desk and LAN/WAN network troubleshooting experience minimum
• 3+ years Microsoft Windows 2016 and Active Directory deployment/management experience minimum. Microsoft Server 2016 enterprise experience is a plus.
• Detailed knowledge of TCP/IP networking including WAN/LAN routing protocols/topology
• Ability to work independently while working under specified goals and task oriented groups
• Ability to pass an intense technical interview and testing
• Detailed knowledge of VMWare platform configuration/troubleshooting best practice
• Detailed knowledge of data backup systems such as EMC Avamar and Recover-point
• Detailed knowledge of EMC VNX SAN configuration/troubleshooting best practice
The ideal candidate will have 90% or more competency of the following skills and knowledge areas:
• Adept at trouble-shooting computer issues.
• Experience with routers, HP switches, Sophos firewalls and EMC/VMWare SAN, network printers
• Highly responsible and detail-oriented with communication skills and a friendly attitude
• Implement plans for technology deployment, upgrades and refreshment.
• Disaster recovery activities, i.e., maintain backup (ghost) images of servers/PCs, spare parts, software CDs/disks, and documentation of recovery methodology.
• Respond to network/ desktop related trouble calls. Identify and analyze network/desktop malfunctions, determine and implement necessary corrective actions.
• Maintain confidentiality when working on management's desktops or file shares.
• Monitor network/desktop health using software management tools and take corrective action.
• Administer / troubleshoot LAN infrastructure and WAN, WLAN connectivity
• Windows 7/10 client OS knowledge in a business networked environment
• Windows Server 2016, Active Directory
• VXRail HCI configuration and implementation best practice
• SQL 2016 Databases
• Sophos Enterprise Endpoint Protection software
• Shoretel or Mitel VoIP Systems
• Remote desktop access software as RDC or LogMeIn
• Periodic after hours and night/weekend work and on call availability
• Additional duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS:

• Be able to work specifically in a small IT workgroup-team environment, where the expectation is that all members of the team pitch in when necessary, regardless of departmental role, as well as being open to light mentoring of junior team members.
• Assist the primary System Engineer with the development and expansion of the network/datacenter environment
• Be able to fully own the technical systems management role, including vendor interactions.
• Solid ability to communicate effectively with both technical staff and end users; by providing exceptional client service skills.
• Keep abreast of new technology systems, methods and platforms.
• Understand and deliver on ticket escalation expectations
• Ability to meet deadlines, learn multiple programs and systems
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions, occasionally in urgent situations.
• Must have a genuine affinity for technology
